Information about 09209
This helicopter was manufactured in 1987. It entered service with the Swedish Army the same year, and was initially based at the AF 1 helicopter base in Boden. It was later transferred to the AF 2 base in Linköping.
1998 saw the birth of a new joint helicopter force – the Swedish Armed Forces Helicopter Wing. The unit merged the helicopter operations from all the three military branches (Air Force, Army, and Navy) into one organization.
The helicopter was used in the peacekeeping operations in Kosovo between 2006-2007.
K-09 was donated to the Air Force Museum in late-2009. It was handed over on March 2010 and is now a part of the museum's excellent exhibition.
