Lufttransport Svenska (retired)
Lufttransport Svenska AB was established in 2001, as the Norwegian company Norwegian Air Shuttle and its subsidiary Lufttransport AS acquired Osterman Helicopter's EMS activities in Östersund and Stockholm. In 2002 Lufftransport won an EMS contract with Västerbotten's County Concil and placed a Dauphin in Lycksele (replacing the Swedish Armed Forces Helicopter Wing's earlier EMS activity in the region).
In 2003 Lufftransport won the contract with Uppsala University Hospital for a Dauphin helicopter in Uppsala, replacing Norrlandsflyg's service in the region.
In 2005 Norsk Helikopter AS purchased Lufftransport Svenska.
In 2007 the Swedish company Fly Partners i Luleå AB purchased Lufttransport Svenska. Fly Partners was also the owner of SOS Helikoptern Gotland AB, which operated an EMS EC145 in Visby.
In 2008 Lufttransport Svenska changed name to Scandinavian MediCopter (SMC), which became a subsidiary to Scandinavian AirAmbulance (SAA). The helicopter in Visby was included in the same organization.
