Make sure that the company you choose has a valid approval issued by the Transport Agency.

If you are going for a taxi- or a sightseeing flight, make sure that the company you choose has a valid JAR-OPS 3 approval issued by the Swedish Transport Agency. The company will also need an Operating License (OL) if the flight is going to be other than local. The authority has no public lists with approved JAR-OPS 3 operators, but they have two lists over companies with valid OLs (click here and here).

Aerial works
Pure aerial works companies do not need the approvals mentioned above - they can operate with a national aerial work permit (LFS 2007:49). However, the most JAR-OPS 3 operators have an aerial work section included in their approvals. There are no public lists with all these operators, but we have them listed here. Call the Transport Agency (+46 771 503 503) to verify their validity.

Laroy Flyg (1) (retired)
Laroy Flyg was originally founded by Laroy Månsson in 1976, after buying the flight operations from Gullviks Jordbruksflyg (est. 1952). The company grew and peaked with a fleet of approx 30 airplanes and several helicopters. It was specialized in agricultural operations, like crop dusting, fertilizing and liming. The activity was gradually focused more and more into helicopters throughout the years.

The company was purchased by Osterman Helicopter AB in 1988.

The new LaroyLaroy's son, Leif Månsson, eventually bought back the name Laroy Flyg (2) and the hangar in Landskrona from Osterman. The revival process was initiated in 2003 and in January of 2004 the company took off with two brand new Ecureuils – SE-JHD and SE-JHE - and a new contract with the limewash company Nordkalk AB.
