Air taxi / Scenic flights
Commercial air transports require a valid JAR-OPS 3 / EASA OPS Air Operator Certificate (AOC). The company will also need an Operating License (OL) if the flight is going to be other than local. The Swedish Transport Agency has online lists of valid OLs (click here and here).

Aerial works
Pure aerial works companies do not need the approvals mentioned above - they can operate with a national aerial work permit (LFS 2007:49). All valid aerial work permits are found here.

Lapplandsflyg (retired)
Lapplandsflyg was founded by the legendary pilot Bertil Johansson in Porjus in the early-50s. It was the second helicopter company in Sweden after Ostermans Aero AB. The company has operated ambulance helicopters in Norrbotten, Västerbotten, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Västervik and Sälen throughout the years. It has also assisted the Swedish National Police in their operations. The company moved to its newly built main base at Umeå Airport in 1965.

Lapplandsflyg Lap-Air AB was the oldest still active helicopter company in Sweden. It operated a fleet of Bell helicopters in the Swedish mountain world. The main base was located at Umeå Airport, and the company's two field bases are located in Kvikkjokk and Hemavan. The company was mainly focused in tourism, but did also offer reindeer mustering, power line inspections and various aerial works.

The company offered shuttle traffic between Kvikkjokk, Staloluokta and Ritsem.

RetirementLapplandsflyg announced its retirement in April 2012. The operations was terminated in the summer of 2012. At the time of its shutdown Lapplandsflyg operated five helicopters - three Jet Rangers and two Long Rangers. It owned some additional non-airworthy helicopters as well.

The Kvikkjokk base was acquired by Arctic Air in 2012. The new company took over the shuttle route between Kvikkjokk and Staloluokta.

The operations in Hemavan/Ammarnäs were inherited by Ammarnäs Stugby. The hangar in Hemavan was managed by Heli Lapland AB, which operated through EastAir Helicopter in 2013.

A new Hemavan-Ammarnäs route was established by Jämtlands Flyg in 2014.

The helicopters met the following fate:

SE-HLK - sold to Ammarnäs
SE-HTR - sold to Lit in 2014
