Lapplandsflyg
Lapplandsflyg Lap-Air AB is the oldest still active helicopter company in Sweden. It operates a fleet of Bell helicopters in the Swedish mountain world. The main base is located at Umeå Airport, and the company’s two field bases are located in Kvikkjokk and Hemavan. The company is mainly focused in tourism, but also offer reindeer mustering, power line inspections and various aerial works.The company offers shuttle traffic between Kvikkjokk, Staloluokta and Ritsem.
History
Lapplandsflyg was founded by the legendary pilot Bertil Johansson in Porjus in the early-50s. It was the second helicopter company in Sweden after Ostermans Aero AB. The company has operated ambulance helicopters in Norrbotten, Västerbotten, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Västervik and Sälen throughout the years. It has also assisted the Swedish National Police in their operations. The company moved to its newly built main base at Umeå Airport in 1965.
