If you are going for a taxi- or a sightseeing flight, make sure that the company you choose has a valid JAR-OPS 3 approval issued by the Swedish Transport Agency. The company will also need an Operating License (OL) if the flight is going to be other than local. The authority has no public lists with approved JAR-OPS 3 operators, but they have two lists over companies with valid OLs (click here and here).

Aerial works
Pure aerial works companies do not need the approvals mentioned above - they can operate with a national aerial work permit (LFS 2007:49). However, the most JAR-OPS 3 operators have an aerial work section included in their approvals. There are no public lists with all these operators, but we have them listed here. Call the Transport Agency (+46 771 503 503) to verify their validity.

Jannair (retired)
Jannair was established by Jan-Olof Nilsson in 1990. The company was stationed in Kiruna and operated throughout the mountain world.

The first helicopter, an AS 350 B2, arrived in September 1990 and a second Ecureuil (B model) arrived a few months later. The fleet was mainly used for tourism and various aerial works.

On February 10 1992 one of the helicopters was lost in a fatal accident at Mt Kebnekaise. The tragedy triggered a turn of events that led to Jannair's bankruptcy.
