If you are going for a taxi- or a sightseeing flight, make sure that the company you choose has a valid JAR-OPS 3 approval issued by the Swedish Transport Agency. The company will also need an Operating License (OL) if the flight is going to be other than local. The authority has no public lists with approved JAR-OPS 3 operators, but they have two lists over companies with valid OLs (click here and here).

Aerial works
Pure aerial works companies do not need the approvals mentioned above - they can operate with a national aerial work permit (LFS 2007:49). However, the most JAR-OPS 3 operators have an aerial work section included in their approvals. There are no public lists with all these operators, but we have them listed here. Call the Transport Agency (+46 771 503 503) to verify their validity.

Jämtlands Aero (2) (retired)
Jämtlands Aero (2) was established in 2002. The company had nothing to do with the original company Jämtlands Aero (1), which was established back in 1954, they just shared the same name.

Jämtlands Aero (2) had its main hangar in Järpen, near Åre Ski Resort, in Jämtland’s County. It had a second base in Idre and field bases in Gäddede and Rörvattnet. It was involved in various operations throughout the mountain world, including power line inspections, air taxi and heli ski.

The company entered partnership with Osterman Helicopter in February 2004, which made Osterman responsible for Jämtlands Aero’s operational and technical management. Jämtlands Aero remained as a vending company for a period of time, but the helicopters were transferred to Osterman Helicopter.
