If you are going for a taxi- or a sightseeing flight, make sure that the company you choose has a valid JAR-OPS 3 approval issued by the Swedish Transport Agency. The company will also need an Operating License (OL) if the flight is going to be other than local. The authority has no public lists with approved JAR-OPS 3 operators, but they have two lists over companies with valid OLs (click here and here).

Aerial works
Pure aerial works companies do not need the approvals mentioned above - they can operate with a national aerial work permit (LFS 2007:49). However, the most JAR-OPS 3 operators have an aerial work section included in their approvals. There are no public lists with all these operators, but we have them listed here. Call the Transport Agency (+46 771 503 503) to verify their validity.

Helimatic (retired)
Helimatic AB was established in the early-90s. Its subsidiary Helimatic Helicopter AB is working with vertical and horizontal saws for forest clearing in the vicinity of power lines. The service is used by the power industry in Scandinavia and Europe, but mainly in Sweden and Norway. Helimatic AB has exclusive rights to sell both a vertical type of saw and a horizontal.

The operational part of the company was purchased by HeliAir Sweden in late-2009. Helimatic remains as a non-operating company, with the same profession as earlier.
