Make sure that the company you choose has a valid approval for the job you request.

Air taxi / Scenic flights
Commercial air transports require a valid JAR-OPS 3 / EASA OPS Air Operator Certificate (AOC). The company will also need an Operating License (OL) if the flight is going to be other than local. The Swedish Transport Agency has online lists of valid OLs (click here and here).

Aerial works
Pure aerial works companies do not need the approvals mentioned above - they can operate with a national aerial work permit (LFS 2007:49). All valid aerial work permits are found here.

HelikopterService Euro Air (retired)
A new way of thinking and a fleet of modern aircraft in shuttle traffic between Sweden and Denmark once made HelikopterService a well known company in southern Sweden.

It had a very popular IFR flight school (est. 1990). At the most the company had routes from three Swedish towns: Helsingborg, Malmö and Halmstad, to the Kastrup Airport in Denmark.

The operation was gradually decreased as the Øresund Bridge was opened in year 2000.

In May 2001 HelikopterService established a shuttle route between Kastrup and Halmstad in order to find new customers. However, after less than 1000 passengers, the line was closed in September the same year.

On 20 December 2002 HelikopterService Euro Air closed its entire shuttle traffic.

The company was united with Osterman Helicopter (both owned by Norwegian Helicopter Transportation Group) and kept the Helsingborg based Long Ranger for the IFR flight training for a couple of years. The last helicopter was sold in February 2005.
