If you are going for a taxi- or a sightseeing flight, make sure that the company you choose has a valid JAR-OPS 3 approval issued by the Swedish Transport Agency. The company will also need an Operating License (OL) if the flight is going to be other than local. The authority has no public lists with approved JAR-OPS 3 operators, but they have two lists over companies with valid OLs (click here and here).

Aerial works
Pure aerial works companies do not need the approvals mentioned above - they can operate with a national aerial work permit (LFS 2007:49). However, the most JAR-OPS 3 operators have an aerial work section included in their approvals. There are no public lists with all these operators, but we have them listed here. Call the Transport Agency (+46 771 503 503) to verify their validity.

HelikopterService (retired)
A new way of thinking and a fleet of modern aircraft in liner traffic between Sweden and Denmark once made HelikopterService Euro Air a well known company. It had a very popular IFR flight school (est. 1990). At the most the company had routes from three Swedish towns: Helsingborg, Malmö and Halmstad, to the Kastrup Airport in Denmark.
The bases were gradually closed as the Øresund Bridge was opened in year 2000. On December 20:th 2002 HelikopterService closed its entire liner traffic.

The company was united with Osterman Helicopter (both owned by Norwegian Helicopter Transportation Group) and kept the Helsingborg based Long Ranger for the IFR flight school for a couple of years. The last machine was sold in February 2005.
