If you are going for a taxi- or a sightseeing flight, make sure that the company you choose has a valid JAR-OPS 3 approval issued by the Swedish Transport Agency. The company will also need an Operating License (OL) if the flight is going to be other than local. The authority has no public lists with approved JAR-OPS 3 operators, but they have two lists over companies with valid OLs (click here and here).

Aerial works
Pure aerial works companies do not need the approvals mentioned above - they can operate with a national aerial work permit (LFS 2007:49). However, the most JAR-OPS 3 operators have an aerial work section included in their approvals. There are no public lists with all these operators, but we have them listed here. Call the Transport Agency (+46 771 503 503) to verify their validity.

Heliflyg Nordic (retired)
This is not the same company as the big joint venture Heliflyg.

Heliflyg Nordic derived out of the old company Hyr-Flyg G Pihl, which was based in Ljungsbro and Norrköping. The new company had its roots in Rimforsa, south-east of Linköping. It was focused in aerial works, especially agricultural works, throughout southern Sweden.

In 1986 Heliflyg Nordic took the new name Heli AB. The refurbished company was established through the merge of Fjällflyg i Kiruna, Scandinavian Heliservice, Turistflyg i Arjeplog and Svensk Värmebild. The new united company was soon transferred into Heliflyg – the first widespread company fusion in the Swedish helicopter business.
