If you are going for a taxi- or a sightseeing flight, make sure that the company you choose has a valid JAR-OPS 3 approval issued by the Swedish Transport Agency. The company will also need an Operating License (OL) if the flight is going to be other than local. The authority has no public lists with approved JAR-OPS 3 operators, but they have two lists over companies with valid OLs (click here and here).

Aerial works
Pure aerial works companies do not need the approvals mentioned above - they can operate with a national aerial work permit (LFS 2007:49). However, the most JAR-OPS 3 operators have an aerial work section included in their approvals. There are no public lists with all these operators, but we have them listed here. Call the Transport Agency (+46 771 503 503) to verify their validity.

HT Helikopter Transport (retired)
HT Helikopter Transport was established back in 1989. It was one of the leading fully dedicated power line inspection companies in Sweden. It was based at Mälby Gård in Grillby, but had its helicopters spread throughout Sweden. The company maintained a fleet of Hughes 500 helicopters and had a Hughes 300 for photographic missions and crew training.

HT Helikopter Transport was purchased by Flygtjänst in early-2008, and the joint company became Flygtjänst o Helikoptertransport i Sverige AB. The Grillby base remained until the new company was purchased by HeliAir Sweden AB in 2011. The former owner of Flygtjänst o Helikoptertransport established the company Norr Helikopter in 2011.
