The company will also need an Operating License (OL) if the flight is going to be other than local. The authority has no public lists with approved JAR-OPS 3 operators, but they have two lists over companies with valid OLs (click here and here).

Aerial works
Pure aerial works companies do not need the approvals mentioned above - they can operate with a national aerial work permit (LFS 2007:49). However, the most JAR-OPS 3 operators have an aerial work section included in their approvals. There are no public lists with all these operators, but we have them listed here. Call the Transport Agency (+46 771 503 503) to verify their validity.

Fjällflyg i Kiruna (retired)

Fjällflyg i Kiruna was a short-lived company in the most northern parts of Sweden. It derived out of HB Fjällflyg, which came from F:a Fjällflyg Bröderna Granqvist (est 1970). The company operated throughout the mountain world in northern Sweden.

The company was incorporated in the joint venture Heli AB in 1986, together with Scandinavian Heliservice and Turistflyg i Arjeplog. The new united company was soon transferred into Heliflyg – which was formed through the purchase of Sterner Aero. Heliflyg became the first widespread company fusion in the Swedish helicopter business.

As Heliflyg left Kiruna in 1993 a set of pilots established Polarhelikopter to fill the regional need for helicopters.
