If you are going for a taxi- or a sightseeing flight, make sure that the company you choose has a valid JAR-OPS 3 approval issued by the Swedish Transport Agency. The company will also need an Operating License (OL) if the flight is going to be other than local. The authority has no public lists with approved JAR-OPS 3 operators, but they have two lists over companies with valid OLs (click here and here).

Aerial works
Pure aerial works companies do not need the approvals mentioned above - they can operate with a national aerial work permit (LFS 2007:49). However, the most JAR-OPS 3 operators have an aerial work section included in their approvals. There are no public lists with all these operators, but we have them listed here. Call the Transport Agency (+46 771 503 503) to verify their validity.

Berguven Aero (retired)
Berguven Aero was a small helicopter company in the city of Borlänge. It was established in 2001, in an ambition to fill the helicopter gap that was forced upon the region when Heliflyg closed its activities in Borlänge a year earlier. In fact, Berguven Aero was based in a section of Heliflyg's old hangar space at Dala Airport.

Berguven had a JAR-OPS 3 permit and operated an EC120 and a Schweizer 300 in various missions. The name 'Berguv', derives from the Swedish word for an eagle owl.

The business wasn't as successful as the creators had hoped for, why the company was retired in early-2004.
