Make sure that the company you choose has a valid approval issued by the Transport Agency.

If you are going for a taxi- or a sightseeing flight, make sure that the company you choose has a valid JAR-OPS 3 approval issued by the Swedish Transport Agency. The company will also need an Operating License (OL) if the flight is going to be other than local. The authority has no public lists with approved JAR-OPS 3 operators, but they have two lists over companies with valid OLs (click here and here).

Aerial works
Pure aerial works companies do not need the approvals mentioned above - they can operate with a national aerial work permit (LFS 2007:49). However, the most JAR-OPS 3 operators have an aerial work section included in their approvals. There are no public lists with all these operators, but we have them listed here. Call the Transport Agency (+46 771 503 503) to verify their validity.

Arlanda Helicopter
Arlanda Helicopter is one of the largest air taxi companies in the country. It offers service with single- and twin engined helicopters of various sizes. The company has its own heliport next to Gamla Stan in downtown Stockholm. The main base is located in Åkersberga, north-east of Stockholm.

The name Arlanda Helicopter derives from old desires and requirements to have a professional helicopter company based at Stockholm-Arlanda International Airport for shuttle service and taxi operations. The company had a service desk at Terminal 4 and a hangar at Apron J for a long time.

Arlanda Helicopter has its own flight school, based at the airport in Gävle. It offers extensive helicopter training, including CPL and IR.
