Aerial works
Pure aerial works companies do not need the approvals mentioned above - they can operate with a national aerial work permit (LFS 2007:49). However, the most JAR-OPS 3 operators have an aerial work section included in their approvals. There are no public lists with all these operators, but we have them listed here. This company was established as F:a Helikoptertjänst by Mr Welander and Pihl in Bandhagen, Stockholm, back in 1964. The company was moved to Mora in 1966 and transferred to a joint-stock company (AB) in 1967.

The business started off with a Bell 47J, and was soon expanded with a six Hughes 300s and another Bell 47. At the end of the career the company, which was very big at this time, operated two SA 315 Lama helicopters as well.

Helikoptertjänst held the ambulance helicopter alert in Sälen.

AB Helikoptertjänst was acquired by the Borlänge based agricultural company Sterner Aero AB in 1975. However, the same year a new helicopter company popped up in Mora - Mora Helikopter. That company was acquired by Sterner in 1980.
