Aircraft:SE-HVLPhoto date:Type:30 Jun, 1993Operator:Photo views:Location:2655Photo by:This aircraft was operated by the Swedish National Police for a short period of time back in 1993. The police had earlier tried the twin-engined Bell 412 for its operations back in 1988 (with I-AGSO). The trials were abolished since the military announced that it was about to purchase new Bell 412s for civil EMS operations. The semi-military EMS operations resulted in one base (Lycksele), and it would take many years until the police got their first twin engined helicopters (EC 135).
SE-HVL was leased from Ostermans Aero.Direct link: http://www.nordicrotors.com/SE-HVL/4800

The Swedish Police Wing used the helicopter for a short period of time before it was equipped as an EMS helicopter. It was hired by Uppsala University Hospital as its first intensive care helicopter. The hospital’s new helicopter activity was opened on 16 October 1993. It was stationed at the Fyrislund Rescue Station near the old E4 highway near the city, and operated by Osterman Helicopter in cooperation with Ostermans Aero.
Uppsala University Hospital used the Bell 412 for roughly three years before hiring Norrlandsflyg AB to replace the Bell with a Sikorsky S-76A (SE-JES), starting from June 1996. The Bell 412 remained in Ostermans Aero’s ownership for about a year before it was exported to Spain in 1997.
