Information about SE-HGD
SE-HGD was acquired by Norrlandsflyg AB via the Swedish agent Ostermans Aero AB (OAAB) back in 1975. It was purchased brand new from Agusta SpA in Italy and made Norrlandsflygs fifth Jet Ranger. The helicopter was in faithful service with Norrlandsflyg for 21 years before it was sold to Jämtlands Flyg AB in Östersund. Jämtlands Flyg acquired it in February 1996. It was mainly used for passenger transports and animal inventory flights.
On 26 July 1998 the helicopter crashed on take-off from Tronntjärnarna in Jämtlands County. The pilot was surprised by a sudden gust of wind and the helicopter flipped over in the emergency landing. Nobody was hurt, but the helicopter was unfortunately a write-off.
