This helicopter was constructed in 1973 and imported to Sweden by Linköping-based SAAB-Scania AB in November the same year. It was sold to the power line inspection company Rehnström Aero AB in April of 1974 and was put in service as an inspection platform for the electricity company Sydsvenska Kraft AB. It was operated in four years before it was replaced by SE-HHX and sold back to SAAB-Scania AB in 1978. SAAB sold the aircraft to the lime-wash company Laroy Flyg AB in 1979. It was equipped with bars for crop dusting.
The helicopter was sold to Norway in 1987 but returned to Sweden 13 years later – imported by the leasing and maintenance company Malmskogens Aerocener AB in 2000. It was sold to a private owner in Norrköping but was sold to Forest Air two years later.
The aircraft was acquired by Stockholms Helikoptertjänst AB in April of 2003. It was put in service as a wildlife inventory platform as well as a multi task helicopter in the Sundsvall region.

It was sold to a private owner in mid-2006 but remained in the same geographical area. It eventually found its way to Nälden in Östersund, where it came to be stationed for some time.

SE-HFF was purchased by Malmen Helikopter in 2013. It was incorporated in the company's flight school in the autumn the same year.
