Information about SE-HAP
This aircraft was constructed in 1957 and imported to Sweden by the legendary helicopter company Ostermans Aero AB the same year. The aircraft served Ostermans between 1957 and 1966, and was hired to Sentab/LAMCO in Liberia for a while during that period. In June of 1966 the rather new company Norrlandsflyg AB acquired the aircraft, which became their first own helicopter. Norrlandsflyg had a couple of accident with the helicopter, both due to objects on the ground, but served the company well.
The aircraft was sold to AB Kurt Emmoth in Gällivare (the same town in which Norlandsflyg’s main base were situated). The aircraft was later sold to a company in Porjus (Dan Nyström Fjälltransporter AB) and in 1980 it entered service with a small company in Skellefteå. The aircraft was destroyed in a non-fatal accident on July 22nd, 1982. The accident was caused by the pilot’s chair coming loose while attempting to land in Njurunda, Sundsvall.
